Colouring Snow

We brought some of the cold winter fun inside our classroom today by placing a large amount of snow in our water table. The children took turns colouring the snow by spraying it with the primary colours (food colouring and water). The spray bottles challenged children to use their fine motor skills as they were quite difficult to squeeze. We all marveled at the beautiful colours the children created!

Because the activity was so popular the children decided to use a sand time to help keep track of how long each person's turn was and when it was time to pass the bottles on to the next participant!  How clever!
